DY 136 - CES and Facebook's New Rules

We have a great show kicking off the new year. Dotto Tech.  regular Paul Demara is currently down at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, this is Paul's first visit to CES, and overwhelmed might be an understatement. Paul joins us to talk about his first experiences at the show. 

Christian Paul of Roam Mobility joins us to talk about the best ways to save money on mobility when traveling in the States. And Nelson Hudes fills us in on the latest news from VOIP provider Nettalk. 

Julian Sanders from London Drugs takes on WiFi issues and how to overcome them. 

We also are thrilled to announce the winner of App of The Year. It may be considered something of an upset, but David Hathaway comes through with this years favourite app, LastPass. 

Art Factora had put forward Songza, which was leading in the polls right to the last day, before a surge from LastPass put it in the lead for good!

The Canadian Red Cross put up a good showing as well, ultimately finishing 3rd.

As far as apps goes we had a strong lineup, and a first time winner. After coming so close so many times, David Hathaway wowed us all with Hotel Tonight, an app that lets you find a hotel room at a deep discount, right NOW! When you need it!

John Biehler showed up for taping this weeks show with Google Glass perched on his schnoz. For all of us in the room this was our first exposure to Google's venture into wearable technology.

Google Glass is causing quite a stir as it is a compelling and interesting technology that will have profound social impact. There are challenges around privacy, propriety, distraction, a myriad of issues accompany the introduction of Google Glass.

After we had a quick chat with John about his experiences using Google Glass, we got down to the business of the day, App Thursday, a grand battle between:
